• Do we sell fishing licenses?

As of the 2026 season, we are no longer able to sell fishing licenses in the store. This is a change that the state of Montana has made. If you are fishing with us on a guided trip we highly recommend purchasing your license prior to your trip online. You can buy Montana Fishing Licenses Online using this link.

  • What is our cancellation policy?

    • A 55% deposit is required at the time of booking to hold reservation.
    • 5% of the trip total will be deducted from all returned deposits.
    • Deposits will be refunded with 31 days or more notice of cancellation.
    • Cancellations within 30 days of trip start date shall result in forfeit of deposit.
    • Schedule changes within 30 days of a trip will be treated as a cancellation and re-booking resulting in forfeit of deposit.
    • Schedule changes within 30 days of a trip with a requested guide will be treated as a cancellation resulting in forfeit of deposit.
    • Any schedule changes or cancellations within 4 days of reservation will result in full payment of the reserved trip with the credit card we have on file from initial deposit.
    • If you are concerned about a cancellation or a reschedule, we encourage you to purchase trip insurance. If you have any questions, please reach out to us.
    • No-shows on the day of reservation will result in full payment of the trip. If you are 1 hour late, you will be considered a no-show.
    • Refunds or credits will not be issued due to weather cancellations.
    • We fish in rain, snow, shine, and cannot control river conditions. No deposits or credits for weather or river condition cancellations.
    • If you are not able to get your MT fishing license on the day of your trip due to Montana's online FWP system being down, or errors within the system, we cannot take you fishing and you will charge the full amount for your trip. Due to this we highly suggest you start getting your fishing license/s at least a week early.
    • GRG is permitted by Yellowstone National Park, the Montana Board of Outfitters, and Montana Fish, Wildlife, and Parks. We are an equal opportunity provider operating under a Special Use Permit with the U.S. Forest Service for the Gallatin National Forest.
  • What is included in a guided trip?

We provide all things necessary to fish! That means boots, waders, rod, reel, line, leader, tipper, flies and of course your professional fishing guide. We are a full service fly shop and all gear provided is included in the cost of your trip. No hidden or extra fees to use what you need! All of our trip offerings include non-alcoholic beverages and full day trips include a lunch provided by us.

  • What do I need to bring?

We ask that you bring weather appropriate clothing, that means a hat, sunglasses, and layers based on the weather forecast for the day of your trip. We like to wear lightweight hiking or athletic style pants under waders in the summer and like wool socks, leggings, and fleece lined pants in the winter.

  • Do we offer rental equipment?

Yes! We can get you fully outfitted with everything you need for a day of fishing on your own, there is no need to reserve rental equipment ahead of time either, just swing by the shop and we can get you prepped and ready to hit the river.
